Was with HHC67thMedicalGroup when unit was transferred to Vietnam in Sept.67. Flew out of San Antonio,with stops at San Francisco, Hawaii, Guam, and the Philippines, landed in Bien Hoa. Was in Bien Hoa until after the 68 Tet Offensive,then took an LST out of Saigon to Danang. After landing in Danang we were stationed with Air Force before arriving at our permenant duty station. After awile unit was transferred with 95th Evac.Hosp. Went home Sept.68

As I remember from May 1968 to June 1969 the 355 TFS at Phu Cat Air base. This Sq. was made up of mostly of Air National Guard people from 177th TFG Atlantic City N.J. and 113th TFG Washington D.C. with a sprinkling of A.F Regulars mixed in. The unit set some mighty strong records when the outlook of the guard was no more than a glorified flying club. Unit was presented the PUC, OUA and Vietnam Cross of Gallantry with palm. One pilot who went up to the top was Gen. Merril McPeak who flew with the Sq. and always had good things to say about the ANG. God Bless all who served and welcome home.

I was in country from October 1968 to 1969, at first as a surgeon at the 17th field Hospital ahn'khe then sent to Pleiku at the 71rst Evac Hospital, had multilple buddies of mine still in contact

Served at the Air Force Base at Pleiku 1969-70. I was assigned to the Crash Rescue unit down near the EOD building. I remember that our fire station was facing a squadron of OV-10 FAC's that were parked in the revetments. Was always worried that one of their marker rockets would go off and hit one of our Crash Trucks. Would love to hear from anyone on the base at the time.
