I have read over this website. This is a great mission for who was in my country, Viet Nam. I was born in 1966, 9 years later I have a chance to live in a terrible society of communists. Wow so terrible, more terrible than the period of 1966 to 1972. I landed to US soil in 1994 with my father who served in the re-education camp for more than 6 years and 5 years later I graduated B.S at UC Berkeley. I do not know how to say about the past that was good or bad. I remembered the rockets flew over my head. It was scare, but after that it was a memory because there is few people saw them in reality. Wow. Thank you for all who served for freedom of my country.

This is in response to a note posted by Bryan Shively regarding his uncle, Dennis Shively, who was killed 24 March 1968. I was unable to reach him by way of the email address he posted. I was on the patrol with his uncle that day he was killed. I have photos of his uncle and the location where we were in Quang Nam Province. I would like to share these with Bryan and his family.

My father, ret LTC Donald H. Threlkeld, served as an advisor to the 9th ARVN Division in 1968-1969, MACV, Team 60, reporting to General Tran Ba Di in the Mekong Delta region. On July 17, 2006 my father passed away from multiple illnesses some of which were the result of exposure to agent orange. Dad never complained about his diseases and held strong to spreading freedom throughout the world. He was a solid Christian, great soldier, best father and friend a son could ever have. He always spoke highly of the soldiers he served with in Vietnam. He often wondered what had happened to many of them. I was able to find General Tran Ba Di since my father's death through one of the officers of the 9th ARVN Div. General Di is alive and well and with his family after many years of separation from them. I am trying to find out as much information as I can about my father and his tour of duty in Vietnam. If you served with my father or knew him I would love to hear from you and can be contacted at athreck@sbcglobal.net Thank you for serving such a great cause. God Bless you and as my father always told me, "Keep the Faith" .

This is the 5th reunion of the Brotherhood of Dak To Defenders and the first time we've opened it up to everyone. I don't need to say too much about Dak To, anyone who served there knows what I mean. The Vietnamese call it 'The Valley of Screaming Souls'.
If you're interested in the reunion just let me know and I'll get the details to you.
I was a medic with the 299th Combat Engineers and was there for the seige of '69.

We're making a documentary film about the impact that the Vietnam War had on young men who were surfers during that period. The war had a heavy impact on the beach culture.
From heavy combat vets, to secret surf missions in Vietnam, to radical draft evaders. We'll share these personal and important stories.
If your interested please check out our website at http://betweenthelinesfilm.com/
and get on our mailing list. We are done filming and expect to release the film in about a year.
Thanks to all who served both then and now.
