My father was born and raised in Salem, Virginia until he volunteered to go to Vietnam in 1964. He served with the 554th Light Maintence Ground Support in Quin Nhon until 1967 or 1968. He was 18 years old when he left. He left Virginia and went on to California where he was then taken to Quin Nhon. He was then returned in 1968 to Rocky Mountain Arsenal in Denver Colorado. I believe his rank was E4. His name was GARY LEE THOMAS. Anyone with any information on my father, anyone who remembers him or anyone that served with him PLEASE contact me. I am his daughter, Heather who is trying to help him recover a part of his life he isnt sure if he wants to remember. Thank you and god bless you all. WELCOME HOME TO THOSE WHO GAVE ME THE LIFE I HAVE TODAY. AND GOD BLESS THOSE WHO LOST THEIR LIVES FOR IT.

Father, Manning Bell in WWII and Vietnam. Said to have a son, maybe born in 1981 - part vietnamese. Also his wife, Mary Jean Bell (Both from Hannibal, MO) to have given birth to a girl baby. One of the children would be 1-3 years older than me (I was born in 1959) and the boy probably born around 1981ish and lived in Texas for awhile.
Anyone with please write or call asap. Mary and Manning have both passed on.

It is good to see many expressing their memories of Vietnam because it is still very hard for me to do the same. I was a Ranger in Co K 75th Rangers (LRRP) attached to the 4th Div in Pleiku during Dec 68 until I was hit seriously wounded in Feb of 1970. I maintain contact with a few of my brave Ranger Lurp buddies and recently discovered I had saved approximately 100 picture negatives I took while in Nam. While we were on "stand down" I sent usable items to a compound that maintained incurable kids with diseases Americans only read about. The compound was maintained by very brave Nuns of South Vietnam. Keep up the good work and God bless our troops.

Steve

I was in Nam Feb. to Nov. 1967. I was with H&S Co. 1st Motor Transport Bt. Otter Plt. 1st Marine Div. I was a driver, and 50 cal. gunner, of M-76 Otter an amphibious vehicle. I spent a lot of time at 3/1 March and April and 2/1 a lot after that. I was transfered to 11 M.T. Bt. in November and got my flight date Thanksgiving day. I am looking for any one I served with or any otter drivers. Especially looking for Robert E. Seaborn from Nashville Tenn. back then. He was in 3rd Marine Div. We lost 2 drivers on 5/15/67 and October 16,67,his first week in country I will never forget those days, or the men. Thanks to all that served. Semper-Fi

As a historian I have always found Vietnam to be an enigma in US history. Regardless of opinions on the Vietnam war, it has affected an entire nation and generation, and the world still experiences the imapct of that for better or for worse.
