I have adopted a missing American Hero, his Name: Wilfredo D. Singson Rank/Branch: US Marine Corps Unit: -/- Date of Birth: -/- Home City of Record: -/- Date of Loss: 28 January 1968 Country of Loss: South Vietnam Loss Coordinates: -/- Status (in 1973): AWOL Category: -/- Acft/Vehicle/Ground: Ground Refno: -/- Other Personnel in Incident: (none missing) REMARKS: NOT ON OFFICIAL LISTS. For instance, the Marine Corps does not maintain a missing fileon Wilfredo D. Singson, reported missing January 28, 1968. Although he did not appear on 1973 lists, in 1980, the Defense Department listed Singson as AWOL - Absent Without Leave. His story and his fate are unknown. All this sounds "unbelievable" for me! If someone who read this and can help to bring light into the darkness of Wilfredo Singerson?s military existence, please be kind to contact me. There MUST be someone who knew him, from Bootcamp, same Unit, Division, or Platoon. EVERY INFORMATION WILL BE APPRECIATED! Thank you in advance, "SEMPER FI"

I'm interested in writing some form of book about it, however I want to have the right information first, this site's been great but if any Vet can spare some time to drop by and email me ( kate.smith@dial.pipex.com )with any personal experiences or thoughts/opinions than I would be extremly gratful.

I spent about 26 months in-country with Pacific Fleet Combat Camera Group, Det Alfa. I was a motion picture combat cameraman and worked out of TanSon Nhut but was deployed all over RVN from the DMZ to the Delta and from the South China Sea to Cambodia. Entered Vietnam first time in May 1966 and left it for the last time in early 1972. Saw that war from build-up to Vietnamization. Glad I wasn't there for the fall of the country.
